Hit Someone Football League

Hit Someone Football is "A football league for the rest of us" as described in the Daily Universe last semester (Fall 2010). Even if you don't see yourself playing full-contact football ever, this league is definitely one of the fun things to do in Provo and is something to see while you're here. The players are fierce, competitive, and quite entertaining!

Players are driven to the ground, tackled, and beat up as they continue to play the sport. The benefit of coming to watch these players is that you don't have to sit in a huge stand of seating. You get to be by the sidelines and see the tackles up close. Being this close to the action also fires you up because you will find yourself yelling along with the players on the sidelines. Even at 8:00 in the morning these players are driven by adrenaline and yelling and screaming hoping to intimidate their opponents and motivate their own players to own the other team.

I volunteered to help run the games on one weekend and found myself going back the following weeks just to watch! The spring season will be starting March 26th to April 23rd and it's definitely one of the best things to do in Provo especially as this league is growing. When they first started they had four teams, then the league grew to six, and before the end of last season there were already two more teams wanting to sign up for the Spring 2011 season. With that said, I'm sure the players are going to be more competitive, fierce, and entertaining to watch this upcoming season.

If you are looking to play the sport or just come and watch, you can find information about league sign-ups, game schedules etc. can be found at their website at hitsomeone.com
