Sledding in the Canyon

Sledding in the Provo City Canyon
What are some things to do when it just snowed 6 inches outside and the only thing that you can think of doing is watching a movie? One option is to do what hundreds of others do... layer yourself in snow clothes, grab a sled, and head for hill. Popular places are Y mountain, Rock Canyon Park, and by Seven Peaks.
Make sure to bring your gloves and shovel in order to make jumps at the end if you feel like being extreme. You also will want to bring a camera so that others will believe you when you tell them what you did!
My church group recently had an activity up the canyon at a place where they supply the tubes and the tow rope. So if the part about walking up a hill 20 times, dragging a tube behind you doesn't sound too fun, try visiting Soldier Hollow up by Midway, UT. It is supposed to be an amazing hill with fun written all over it.
Whether you use a normal sled, a home made sled, an inter tube, or a piece of plastic, people continue to have fun finding ways to slide down the hill the fastest! Maybe your new invention can beat the normal "store bought" colored disc. So instead of watching a movie or sitting around thinking of things to do, grab some clothes, a friend, a sled and find a mountain. Make this winter something fun to remember!
This weekend is suppose to snow a lot, so make plans and get ready to hit the slopes!
