S.O.S. Drug

If you’ve been in Provo and while and now and need to get out but don’t have a lot of time to travel far, head south eight miles to Springville and check out S.O.S Drug.

Why check out a drug store? Good question. Besides the fact that they’ve got ice cream, candy, and a killer milkshake, the place is super old-school! When you walk in you’ll feel like you’re in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.” S.O.S Drug is definitely a place that ought to be on your list of fun dating ideas.

My #1 reason for stopping at S.O.S. is to get a large, 32 oz Cherry Ironport for $1. This drink is rumored to be named after Porter Rockwell, which makes sense because you can only find the drink in Utah, Idaho and Nevada today. There are other places in the Provo area that you can get this drink at but none of them have been as tasty as the Cherry Ironport you can get at S.O.S.

Other reasons to stop in at S.O.S. Drug are for the candy and ice cream. They've got a large variety of ice cream all of which have that home made ice cream taste that you'd get from your grandmother's house when you were young. You'd expect to pay a lot of money for this type of ice cream but that's not the case! S.O.S. Drug's ice cream is cheap! if you're on a budget like most college students, this is definitely one to add to your fun dating ideas list.

Check out S.O.S. for the old-school pharmacy feel, cheap ice cream with lots of variety, and in my experience, the best Cherry Ironport around.
